We are on the home stretch! WooHoo! My back is officially killing me. I have a pinched nerve fron the position he has dropped to. I am hoping he moves a bit more VERY SOON! With all the relaxin hormone kicking into my body the chiropractor visits only help for about 30 minutes before it slips out of place again. There is not much to do until I deliver him.  I am done with work! Whew! It has been a bit exhausting. The last few days I just crashed when I got home. I did well throughout the day but once I got to break to sit down it all hit me! I don't believe I bothered on getting up the rest of the night! I wish I got a chance to sleep in but with early doctors appointments and being on an early schedule that will have to wait a bit longer. This weeks task was interviewing Pediatricians. We got a referral from a friend who knew someone great. She was right! I can't even believe he is so amazing. We spent a good hour in his office learning about his philosophy and interviewing him. My favorite part was that he said we would never be rushed and we would have his complete attention anytime we had an appointment.  I survived my first day back at work. It was an interesting first day then the remainder of the week went smooth. Upon my arrival I was quickly put back to work. We hired a replacement for me 6 months ago when I went out on bedrest and she has been doing great. She has the skills to perform the work and I needed to train her for all the details of things falling through the cracks. After ONE HOUR of training SHE QUIT! She just walked out. Oh no!  It is a new year! Lucas is moving, doing summersaults and kicking me like no ones business! He is strong! That is what I like, a strong healthy baby! We got through the holidays without a hitch. I have been really compliant with the diet. Training my body to deal with the meat has been the most difficult. My stomach is finally coming to terms with it.... SLOWLY. We had a wonderful time with all of our family get togethers.

Christmas is finally here! That means we coast through the holidays, hypnobirthing classes, baby showers and he will be here before I know it! Yes, that is my dear husband in his "tacky holiday shirt". Believe it or not he actually asked for it! Since, I am home with lots of free time (and I love anything crafty) I got right to work. The highlight of the shirt is the intensely bight LED lights on the tree.

HELLO SAN DIEGO! A final yahoo before my third trimester! I headed off to spend some time with my dear friend April and family. This was a fun trip! April and her husband John have a beautiful son Nevan, who is a year and 4 months. I scored on all the goodies! Dan continues with week two of vacation and we are just having a great time together before Lucas arrives! Nothing much to report but a lot of R&R! OHHHHH, I have the tree up, house decorated for Christmas, shopping done, presents wrapped and feeling the holiday spirit! I was able to attend my Christmas work party which was a blast! HAPPY THANKSGIVING! There is a lot going on these days. I get to spend the next two weeks with Dan while he is taking a vacation. He has accumulated so much time he either has to take it or lose it. This was a big week for Dan! FINALLY, he felt the baby kick on November 13, 2009 at 6:32am. It was crazy to him how strong he could actually feel it. HALF WAY THERE!
Yippee! It is great knowing every week the pregnancy gets a little safer. I almost feel that we are out of the woods. I have not yet completely let myself relax but getting closer as the days go on. Everyone says how wonderful pregnancy is but I think it has been very stressful. Hopefully we will be blessed sometime with another one and things will be less complicated and I can thoroughly enjoy pregnancy.

We had our big "20 Week ultrasound" (at 19 weeks). It was very detailed looking at all the different body parts, organs & four chambers of the heart. Lucas looks healthy and strong. He was a bit uncooperative and kept his hands in front of his face most of the time. Hence, the hands at the side of his face in the photo. Growing, growing & growing! My belly continues to get bigger and so does the little man. This week I have noticed him moving. There is a little flutter under my left rib every night. He moves like a well machined clock, six and eight o'clock I feel him moving for about ten minutes then back to sleep it is. He is definitely a Kaney! Depending on whom you are talking to "buba" or "Baby Blue" is growing rapidly. I am looking more pregnant than just over weight these days. Thank goodness. That in between stage is brutal. I feel a more comfortable showing off the belly than trying to hide behind loose clothing.

The news everyone has been waiting for....... IT'S A BOY! 
Due: March 23, 2010!
The CVS test came back and he is healthy. No suprise to me that were are having a boy. I have said from the start that I thought it was a boy and have been referring to the baby as "he". His name is still TBD. Dan is elated. He already has golfing and fishing plans for Saturdays.... NO GIRLS ALLOWED! Hmmmm.

  This week I was having difficulty with bleeding again. A few more days of bed rest and taking it easy was the Doctors order. Everything is fine and the baby is doing great. We are trying to be really patient to find out the gender. The call should be coming this week. I promise to let you know as soon as I hear! My only complaint is the darn itching! All night my back and tummy itches and keeps me awake..... UGH!

Lordy! We had the CVS testing. It was not as easy as I had anticipated! OUCH! Dan has permenant scars on his hand from me squeezing so hard! Don't feel too sorry, he still has it a lot easier than I do. We are so fortunate to live in a metropolitan area where we have the best specialists to care for us. Well, we are almost through the first trimester! YEA! The baby is growing and moving like a wiggle worm everytime we go in for ultrasounds! It is so crazy to think it is about the size of a fig now, about 1 1/2 inches long. The Dr/s office is going to keep me off work until week 20 then they will determine if I can go back to work.  A few days after our last ultrasound with the Perinatologist we went for another ultrasound and check up with the OB/GYN and found out baby BBB's heart had stopped. Baby AAA's (the identical twin to BBB) heart rate was dropping and would probably not make it. We were saddened & stunned to hear such news just a few days following our last visit where everything was on track. We went to Alta Bates Hospital in Berkely to confirm there were in fact 3 babies with a higher resolution ultrasound machine. Three little heart beats! The machine could not store info for triplets..... only twins. LOL. Our OB/GYN called to refer us to a Perinatologist in San Francisco for a high risk pregnancy. We will be treated by both doctors. This was a GREAT week! I had a wonderful time with my best girlfriend April and her son Nevan arriving into town and staying at my house followed by the third and final baby shower. It was so best but the best time ever!
Another week and another GREAT Baby Shower!
It has been a wonderful and busy week. I have been getting ready for my mom to come to town. She hosted a wonderful baby shower full of old friends and co-workers. It was held at my house and she made it stunning. There was a bit of an owl theme going on and we got a bit carried away.
