A few days after our last ultrasound with the Perinatologist we went  for another ultrasound and check up with the OB/GYN and found out baby BBB's heart had stopped. Baby AAA's (the identical twin to BBB) heart rate was dropping and would probably not make it. We were saddened & stunned to hear such news just a few days following our last visit where everything was on track. We knew this was going to be a rollercoaster of emotions and trials with a huge percentage of losing all three. We went today for a follow up to find out baby AAA's heart had stopped as well. Baby CCC (the fraternal in its own sack) is doing really well and right on track. It is measuring right on target for heart rate and size. It was moving all over the place. Next Friday we will be visiting the Perinatologist and will hopefully have a video to post. We learned of something called vanishing twin syndrome. It happens in about 30% of all pregnancies. . Usually an ultrasound is not done so early but with the fertility treatments the women are monitored more frequently and much earlier hence, they are noticing the rates of this happening are much greater than once believed.

Though we are very sad about losing the two babies, we are very happy and feel fortunate to have one healthy and strong baby growing. Dan and I want to thank everyone who has been praying for us! Please continue to pray for a strong healthy baby!
